After seven years of practicing at one of the largest multinational law firms in the world, Alec decided to pursue a more fee-sensitive approach to representing clients.
The Cierny Firm offers numerous fee arrangements in an effort to identify the best fit for each client and each matter, allowing The Cierny Firm to take on a variety of engagements that are not well-suited for many larger firms.
Our Story
Meet Alec Cierny
Alec practiced at DLA Piper LLP (US) in its Commercial Litigation Group in San Francisco for seven years before opening The Cierny Firm in 2017.
From 2015 to 2020, Alec was recognized as a Super Lawyer - Rising Star and a Super Law Lawyer since 2021, a recognition reserved for less than 2.5% of all attorneys.
Alec is a 2010 graduate of University of California - Berkeley School of Law, and a 2004 graduate of Tulane University. While in law school, Alec served as an extern to Chief Judge Vaughn Walker in the Northern District of California.
Before attending law school, Alec worked in state politics and government. In Georgia, he lobbied for the Georgia Beverage Association where he teamed with the Executive Director to promote the non-alcoholic, refreshing beverage industry's good relations with governmental officials and business organizations, and he served as campaign manager for the incumbent challenger in the 2006 race for Georgia’s Attorney General.
Alec has represented hundreds of clients, reaching resolutions in every single case by favorable judicial disposition or settlement.
